Earth Mother

This whimsical sculpture of a female head covered in flowers watches over all who come to the park to revel in nature. Earth Mother sculpture symbolizes fertility and motherhood, motifs that appear often in mythology. The artist’s dedication to the earth is illustrated as a large, whimsical female head that emerges from the earth and engenders awareness and respect for the natural world. The piece reminds us that as Mother Earth cares for us, we also care for her. The piece is dedicated to all mothers.

The Observer

2015, repainted 2025

Rising gently from the earth, The Observer is a whimsical sculpture of a female head adorned with vivid blossoms and native Texas cactus. She gazes peacefully over the park, a quiet guardian of nature’s rhythms. Once titled Earth Mother, this work continues to honor themes of fertility, motherhood, and renewal—motifs that have long inspired myth and art alike. Reimagined with plants that thrive through every season, The Observer celebrates resilience, interconnectedness, and the enduring relationship between humanity and the natural world.
