The installation featured a window display composed of a variety of props and materials, including grass, trees, dolls, feathers, flowers, and fabrics extended into a gallery space, creating an imaginative forest-like environment.

Flight of Fantasy

2007
Duration 15 minutes
Concept, costumes, animation, installation and set design by Yuliya Lanina
Choreography by C. Eule Dance

Set in a technicolor dreamscape populated by beautiful and bizarre creatures, the dancers played out an abstract lifecycle through the metaphor of a butterfly. The “Journey” animation, projected on the back wall, played continuously over the course of the show. Four dancers brought Lanina’s costumes and images to life with dance performances every evening. In the daytime, their rehearsals were held out in the open, so they could be observed by passersby.
