Mechanical Paintings
Mechanical paintings consist of three-dimensional automatons with painted flat characters moving on different planes. This composition of images, sound and movement is Lanina's attempt to create a work of art that exists on the threshold between painting, animation and sculpture. The accompanying soundtrack plays original score by Yevgeniy Sharlat.

Mechanical paintings consist of three-dimensional automatons with painted flat characters moving on different planes. The accompanying soundtrack plays original score by Yevgeniy Sharlat.
The characters in the display are brought to life using a variety of electromechanical devices, orchestrated by a Raspberry Pi controller. The figures are animated using small servos and independent microcontrollers.
