I intend to bring a dissonant charge to the work I create. Playful and quirky on the exterior, my work uses whimsy as a device to draw closer inspection, leading to greater awareness and introspection among viewers. Once engaged, the viewer often finds evocations of the dark matter that is the underbelly of human existence, striking a primordial balance.
My projects are not confined to one art form, but exist at the intersection of visual and performing arts, technological innovation, and social issues like gender perception, sexual objectification and violence, loss, and motherhood.
I am particularly interested in turning the traditional medium of painting into a multi-dimensional and immersive experience for the viewer. I strive to accomplish this by creating multimedia performances, animations, and mechanical sculptures based on my paintings and accompanied by original music compositions.
My work aims to speak to the nature of being, to the heart as well as intellect and to be accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.
